Shake The Crown

Rio de Janeiro, three weeks before Carnival: Dandara Reis, a gorgeous jewel forger who has worked off her dead father's debt to animal-lottery boss Dorival Brandão for six years, is promised her freedom if she becomes drum queen of the samba school Unidos do Morro Dourado and swaps its legendary diamond crown for her fake on parade night. She can't samba — but the drum master, Caetano Amaral, picks her anyway, and trains her every night on his rooftop. Caetano is Dorival's stepson, and the crown belonged to his dead mother.
